Feilding & District Promotion (FDP) is a community-led organisation working to support events, promote our district, strengthen local businesses, and create opportunities for residents across the Manawatū District.

Whether you're a resident, business owner, community organisation, or simply someone who wants to stay connected, there is a place for you within FDP.

Membership Classes

Voting Member

Voting Members are the formal members of FDP and play an active role in shaping the organisation's future.

Who can apply?

Any resident, ratepayer, or business operator within the Manawatū District Council area.

Voting Member benefits

• Vote at Annual and Special General Meetings
• Stand for election to the Executive Board
• Receive member communications and updates
• Contribute to the strategic direction of FDP

Requirements

Voting Members must:

• Complete a membership application
• Be approved by the Executive Board
• Agree to FDP's Code of Conduct

 

Community Subscriber (Non-Voting)

Not everyone wants to be involved in governance, but many people still want to stay informed and connected.

Community Subscribers are non-voting supporters who wish to engage with FDP's work and receive information about local initiatives, events, and opportunities.

Community Subscribers can

• Receive newsletters and updates
• Participate in consultations and community engagement activities
• Attend public events and activities
• Stay informed about projects and initiatives happening across the district

Community Subscribers cannot

• Vote at General Meetings
• Stand for election to the Executive Board

 

How to Apply

Applying for membership is simple.

Applicants are required to:

1. Complete a membership application form.
2. Provide contact details and confirmation of residency or business presence within the district.
3. Agree to comply with FDP's Constitution, policies, and Code of Conduct.

All applications are considered by the Executive Board.

 

Membership Approval

To ensure FDP remains focused on its purpose and serves the community effectively, applications are reviewed by the Executive Board.

When considering applications, the Board may take into account:

• Alignment with FDP's purpose and objectives
• Residency, ratepayer status, or business presence within the district
• Any governance or reputational considerations

The Board's decision regarding membership applications is final.

 

Member Responsibilities

All members are expected to:

• Support the purpose and reputation of FDP
• Comply with the Constitution and organisational policies
• Maintain current contact information
• Pay any applicable membership subscriptions
• Engage respectfully with fellow members and the wider community

 

Community First

FDP recognises that its role extends beyond formal membership.

Many residents, businesses, community groups, and volunteers contribute to making our district a great place to live, work, visit, and invest.
