32 (Borough of Feilding) Squadron, Air Training Corps

32 (Borough of Feilding) Squadron, Air Training Corps is a volunteer youth organisation, part of the New Zealand Cadet Forces. Our Squadron was first formed in Feilding in 1969, and we are currently based at the Feilding Aerodrome on Campbell Road, Taonui. Cadet Forces offer young people a chance to get involved in outdoor activities, leadership, and training they may not otherwise experience. We’re supported by the New Zealand Defence Force with the training and exercises we provide and offer extra-curricular activities for our cadets from Year 9 right through until their late teens. Some examples of the activities we offer in and around Feilding are: • Power flying and gliding • Tramping and outdoor activities • School holiday leadership courses • Rifle shooting • First aid We parade on Monday evenings and hold occasional training weekends during the school terms. Our activities do not interfere with schoolwork, and we arrange our weekend training to suit school sporting and other commitments.
